32 Day 1. Arrive Cape Town (South Africa). On arrival at Cape Town airport, be met by a Travelmarvel representative and transferred to your hotel. A city alive with creativity, colour, sounds and tastes, be ready to fall in love with Cape Town's natural beauty, charming locals and incredible spirit. This is a city where the unexpected is always just around the corner and from which the beautiful province of the Western Cape lies ready to be explored. This evening, meet fellow travellers and your Tour Director at a Welcome Reception. Stay (Three Nights): Cape Town, Southern Sun Waterfront Hotel. Day 2. Cape Town. Today's tour of Cape Town begins with a ride by cableway to the top of beautiful Table Mountain. Admire the views, then return to the city to visit its much-loved attractions. This afternoon is at your leisure. A Taste of South Africa – partake in the art of African drumming before enjoying a delicious Welcome Dinner of African and Cape Malay cuisine. Enhance Your Journey: enjoy this afternoon's leisure time with one of our optional experiences. Perhaps take a ferry ride to Robben Island to see where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned; pick up souvenirs on a Cape Town shopping tour; learn about the local history on an enthralling African Heritage Tour; or enjoy the floral displays at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden (see page 44 for further details). BD Day 3. Cape Town, Cape Peninsula. Like a Local – discover the breathtaking Cape Peninsula during a full-day tour today. This scenic journey takes you along Chapman's Peak Drive to Cape Point, where the Atlantic and Indian oceans meet. The most south-westerly tip of Africa, Cape Point is covered in endemic fynbos and home to bays, beaches and rolling green hills and valleys. Continue to historic Simon's Town for a delicious seafood lunch. Named after Simon Van Der Stel, an early governor of the Dutch settlement, who arrived in the Cape in 1679, Simon's Town is South Africa's third oldest settlement. Van Der Stel chose it as a safe alternative to the stormy Cape coast during the winter months. This pretty coastal town is also South Africa's main naval base and consists of lovely Victorian buildings and quaint walkways. Later, see penguins at Boulders Beach, before returning to Cape Town.
