On arrival in the South African city of Cape Town, be met at the airport and transferred to your five-star hotel. This evening, meet your APT Tour Director and fellow travellers at a Welcome Reception. Three Night Stay: Cape Town, Table Bay Hotel at the V&A Waterfront. Day 2. Cape Town, Freedom of Choice. Today's sightseeing in Cape Town begins with a ride on the aerial cableway to the top of Table Mountain. Enjoy time to admire the beautiful city and ocean stretching out beneath you. Your next stop is the District Six Museum and the Castle of Good Hope, the oldest surviving colonial building in South Africa. Later, embark on a Constantia Winelands tour. Alternatively, take a ferry to Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned. Or set off on a township tour. This evening, join an African drumming session before enjoying a meal of Cape Malay cuisine. BD Day 3. Cape Town, Cape Peninsula. Today's picturesque journey takes you along Chapman's Peak Drive to Cape Point, where the Atlantic and Indian oceans meet. Continue on to historic Simon's Town and see penguins up close at Boulders Beach before returning to Cape Town. BL TRAVEL THE SCENIC GARDEN ROUTE Day 4. Cape Town, Oudtshoorn. Set off through the coastal and forest landscapes of the Garden Route, stopping to explore the Cango Caves on the way to Oudtshoorn. Tonight's dinner features traditional Karoo cuisine. Stay: Oudtshoorn, Rosenhof Country House. BD Day 5. Oudtshoorn, Freedom of Choice, Knysna. Watch for meerkats on a morning safari or enjoy an elephant feeding experience. Continue your journey to Knysna. Two Night Stay: Knysna, Turbine Hotel & Spa. BD Day 6. Knysna, Featherbed Nature Reserve. Take a ferry to Featherbed Nature Reserve and travel by 4WD to Western Head for panoramic views of Knysna Lagoon. You may like to take an optional bushwalk before a buffet lunch amid the lush forest of the reserve. BL AN EASTERN CAPE SAFARI Day 7. Knysna, Pumba Private Game Reserve. Continue along the Storms River mouth before travelling inland from Port Elizabeth to Pumba Private Game Reserve on the Eastern Cape. Pumba Private Game Reserve. Experience the thrill of an Eastern Cape safari, keeping an eye out for Africa's famous Big Five and the reserve's pride of critically endangered white lions. Sighting these majestic creatures in their natural habitat is a real treat. BLD WILDLIFE IN KRUGER NATIONAL PARK Day 9. Pumba Private Game Reserve, Kruger National Park. Transfer to Port Elizabeth and fly via Johannesburg to Kruger National Park, where you enter the private Sabi Sands Game Reserve. This is one of the best parks in which to spot leopards. Arrive at your lodge in time for sundowner drinks at dusk. Two Night Stay: Kruger National Park, Lion Sands River Lodge.
