Kids to kids continued from page 39 Tiana Cronin, 14, Whangarei My mum, my dad and my life are my teachers. It's just me and my brother in my class! It's awesome being a home schooler. Today I wake up to the beautiful chirp of the native birds, as we live in the native bush in Whangarei. I decide to make pancakes for breakfast. This is like doing school work... I'm cooking! So I whip up a batch of yum-as pancakes. We do all the normal subjects such as maths, English, science, social studies, technology, art, P.E. I don't like maths that much. I like English, it can be quite fun sometimes. I enjoy writing stories and articles like this. My brother and I do general book work for about two hours in the morning. I play hockey with my brother. We have a small hockey turf in our back yard. We both love hockey. I am an umpire for hockey. I plan to one day become an international umpire and travel the world umpiring very important games. I'm entering in a photography competition. I'm very good at Art class is part of Tiana's day as a home schooler. PE class for Tiana! "Today I decide to make pancakes. I may take a picture of our waterfalls. Later in the afternoon I feed our pig Penelope, who lives in the paddock. My dad and I ride our quad to feed her. She's very happy to see us and is waiting at the gate for us. I feed her and pat her for a while. After school work I just do stuff, like go on Facebook and watch TV and go out to my friend's houses… just the normal stuff. A lot of the things I do in my general day-to-day life is school work. Some people think it's hard to make friends when Tiana doing what she loves – umpiring for hockey.
