Money / Moni ENTREPRENEUR TOP YOUNG WINNER! tree. A trip into town to buy some small fizzy bottles. After a lot of squeezing, mixing and tasting, the formula was ready. The bottles needed a good label to show people what they were buying. Me – I'm Ryan – being six and going This is how RJ'S Lemonade started. Rather than thinking I could find money down the back of the couch all my life, Dad said we should learn how to make some money. Why don't we sell some lemonade? So we set out to make our secret recipe: lemons off the neighbour's overhanging to school, looked after the writing: RJ'S Lemonade. My brother Jaiden was good at drawing the lemons. We make a great team, Ryan and Jaiden – that's why we stuck our initials on the bottle (RJ'S). After sticking the labels on we couldn't wait to hit the streets. We went door-to-door around the neighbourhood, and went to our friends, and we ended up selling all but a couple of bottles. We were so proud of ourselves – we had made a lot of money for kids our age. But the best sale was yet to come. We decided to put our last bottle on Trade Me and it got put on a 'cool auction', so a lot of people saw our auction (over 17,000!) and we ended up selling one bottle for $100. We made over $130 from our one idea and went to the shop and bought our Woody toy. When the ice cream truck went past we didn't have to ask Dad for his money. We went and got our money and had our own alligator sherbet cones with flakes! – RYAN CLARK, 6, Cloverlea Primary School, Palmerston North ENTREPRENEUR TOP YOUNG WINNER! I have made nearly $1000 and I plan to spend it on my school fees because I would like to help my parents because they do a lot for me – NEIL TRESSLER, 11, St Joseph's School, Wairoa 28 February / March 2012 ch 2012 ENTREPRENEUR My name is Jayden, and I am 10 years old. We live on a farm and have 12 chickens. During the summer we get lots of eggs and it is my job to collect them. When we have too many eggs Mum let's me sell them at our gate for $4 a dozen. Our chooks have a coop that they usually go in to lay their eggs, but because they are free range sometimes they lay eggs in the paddock and we have to try and find them – JAYDEN BURY, Moawhango School, Taihape New Zealand's richest person right now is Graeme Hart – he has $6.5 billion to his name.
