52 Day 1. Arrive Vancouver. Welcome to the coastal city of Vancouver for the start of your magical winter adventure. On arrival, be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. This evening, meet your fellow travellers and friendly Travelmarvel Tour Director at a Welcome Reception. Stay (Two Nights): Vancouver, Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel. Day 2. Vancouver. This morning can be spent at your leisure in Vancouver. Perhaps stroll through this cosmopolitan city and enjoy the festive decorations, or squeeze in some time for Christmas gift shopping. Later this afternoon, enjoy the opportunity to discover Vancouver's must-see attractions on a sightseeing tour, including the Waterfront, Gastown, Granville Island and Stanley Park. You'll also head to the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. Be dazzled by the park's Canyon Lights display – where hundreds of thousands of lights glitter throughout the rainforest and across the suspension bridge. B Day 3. Vancouver, Whistler. Travel along the Sea to Sky Highway and take in incredible views of the spectacular Coastal Mountains on your way to Whistler. The scenery along this route at this time of the year is simply magical, with a thick blanket of snow covering the gigantic surrounding peaks. This alpine resort-town is considered an adventure playground for outdoor enthusiasts, especially in winter. This evening, A Taste of Canada – enjoy a Progressive Dinner, where each course of the meal is served at a different restaurant throughout the village, which is decorated with traditional festive flair. Stay (Two Nights): Aava Whistler Hotel. BD Day 4. Whistler, Vancouver, VIA Rail. Enjoy today at leisure to relax or explore Whistler at your own pace. Enhance Your Journey: perhaps view the mountains from a bird's-eye perspective on a helicopter tour, or explore Whistler's forests with a range of exhilarating tree trek options. If it's speed you're seeking, then jump on a snow mobile and race through the alpine landscapes or enjoy an exciting dog sled ride. Alternatively, take a gondola ride between Whistler and Blackcomb Mountain (see pages 83-84). B Day 5. Whistler, Vancouver, VIA Rail. This morning is at your leisure to enjoy Whistler, before travelling back to Vancouver this afternoon. After dinner, board your overnight VIA Rail journey to Jasper in the Canadian Rockies. On board, enjoy access to the amazing glass-domed observation deck which provides stunning panoramic views. Stay: VIA Rail, Sleeper Touring Class. BD Day 6. VIA Rail, Jasper. Wake up in your comfortable carriage to admire the stunning snow-covered Canadian Rockies passing by. Spend the morning continuing with your scenic journey aboard the VIA Rail.
