43 Day 7. Lake Louise, Icefields Parkway, Athabasca Glacier, Jasper. Journey along the spectacular Icefields Parkway, one of Canada's national treasures, which enjoys a lion's share of natural wonders – glaciers, waterfalls, rocky spires and glacier-fed lakes. En route, take in the region's rugged glacial views. Then stop at Athabasca Glacier for an unforgettable experience as you ride aboard an Ice Explorer along the glacier. Later, continue your journey through pristine mountainscapes to the lovely alpine resort-town of Jasper. Stay: Jasper, Mountain Park Lodges. BD Day 8. Jasper, Blue River. Today, pass magnificent Mt Robson, the highest peak in the Rockies, on your way to Blue River. Like a Local – set off on an extraordinary River Safari to stunning Grizzly Bear Valley where you're likely to witness active native wildlife on the riverbank. Then, enjoy a BBQ dinner on the waterfront. Special Stay – an overnight escape at Mike Wiegele Heli Village offers adventure and serenity in a picturesque setting. Arrive on Vancouver Island, before continuing south to Victoria, the historic capital of British Columbia. Enhance Your Journey: perhaps take a floatplane flight to Victoria instead (see page 83).
