Arrive Kirkenes. Be met at the airport and transferred to your ship. Take time to settle in and perhaps take in the spectacular coastal views from the deck. In the summer months, the Arctic Circle is basked in the light of the 'Midnight Sun'. With nearly 24 hours of daylight, you can see the idyllic sights of Norway whenever you please. Stay (Five Nights): Aboard a Hurtigruten Contemporary Ship. D Day 2. Hammerfest, Tromso. Travel to Hammerfest, one of Europe's most northerly destinations. Officially recognised as a town in 1789, it is one of the oldest in Norway. Later, arrive in Tromso, famed as a hub for Arctic and Antarctic exploration, whaling, sealing and shipping. Here, perhaps take the opportunity to explore the nightlife, or perhaps enjoy a midnight concert at the Arctic Cathedral. BLD Day 3. Vesterålen and Lofoten Islands. Discover the beauty of the Vesterålen and Lofoten archipelago, known affectionately as 'the soul of northern Norway'. Weave your way amidst these stunning isles, and weather permitting, make your way into the beautiful Trollfjord. With towering, steep narrow sides, this stunning fjord is two kilometres in length and only 100 metres wide at its mouth. This region of Norway is home to an abundance of sealife and birdlife, with clouds of puffins filling the air, seals at play amidst the waves, and whales breaching majestically out at sea. On land, the landscape is equally charming, with white sandy coves nestled at the base of towering cliffs and small fishing villages dotting the shore, the small streets lined with the quaint traditional 'rorbuer' (red fisherman's houses). This evening we head away from these beautiful islands towards the mainland. BLD Day 4. Arctic Circle. Cruise past the monument that marks the end of the Arctic Circle and out of the land of the 'Midnight Sun'. As you follow the Hegeland coast, enter a land of myth and legend and watch as your ship glides past the stunning Seven Sisters Peaks. Later, pass by the World Heritage-listed Vega Archipelago. BLD Day 5. Trondheim, Kristiansund. Explore the charming, historic beauty of Trondheim this morning. Take in the remarkable architecture of the local buildings and the idyllic coastal setting. Later, continue to the beautiful town of Kristiansund, located on the scenic Atlantic Road and renowned as Norway's 'cured cod capital' for its primary export. BLD Day 6. Bergen, Disembark Ship. Dock in the picture-book Bergen this morning and disembark your ship for the last time. Afterwards, check in to your hotel and perhaps enjoy some time to explore this delightful city. Stay: Bergen, Clarion Hotel Admiral. B Day 7. Bergen, Amsterdam. This morning, head to the airport for your included flight to Amsterdam.
