27 Day 6. Machu Picchu, Cusco. Perhaps revisit Machu Picchu at leisure this morning, then re-board the Vistadome train for the return journey through the Peruvian Andes back to Cusco. Like a Local – during a traditional weaving demonstration, see how the colourful materials of South America are created by local people, and learn of their importance in preserving ancient traditions. This evening, enjoy dinner at your leisure. Stay (Two Nights): Cusco, Palacio del Inka (a Luxury Collection Hotel). B Day 7. Cusco. This morning, head to Sacsayhuaman Fortress, set in an sacred area that contains 33 unique archaeological sites. Overlooking Cusco, this huge fort was constructed using six-metre-high boulders cut to fit together tightly without mortar. After admiring the fortress, take a tour of Cusco, visiting the ruins of Tambomachay, Quenqo and Puka Pukara. Tonight, enjoy a Peruvian dinner and a traditional folklore show at the Tunupa Restaurant Bar & Grill. BD Day 8. Cusco, Lake Titicaca. Today set out for the city of Puno, located on the shores of Lake Titicaca. Along the way, stop for a visit to the town of Andahuaylillas, known for its picturesque Sistine chapel. You'll also stop for a hearty buffet lunch. On arrival in Puno this afternoon, enjoy time at leisure to relax. Stay (Two Nights): Puno, Hotel Jose Antonio. BL Day 9. Lake Titicaca. Set on the border of Peru and Bolivia, Lake Titicaca is the highest altitude lake in the world. Like a Local – cruise over the lake to the home of the Uros people – a group of more than 40 man-made islands created from floating reeds. Enjoy an insight into the Uros' unique way of life and experience the scenery that characterises the region. In the evening, return to your hotel for dinner. BD Day 10. Lake Titicaca, Lima. After flying back to Lima today, enjoy time at leisure. A Taste of Lima – this evening, say goodbye to your new-found friends during a Farewell Dinner at Cafe del Museo, set within the Larco Museum – a privately owned museum of pre-Columbian art. Stay: Lima, Casa Andina Select Miraflores. BD Day 11. Depart Lima. Transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
