Day 2: Caesarea, Megiddo, Haifa & Acre A ride down the coastal plain to Caesarea takes you to the aqueduct and the amphitheater—now a concert venue—in what was the old Roman capital of Israel, before stopping in Megiddo, the site of Armageddon, to see excavations that include the well-preserved and fascinating water supply system. A view of the Persian Gardens at the Baha Temple awaits in Haifa, and of an ancient city and harbor in Acre. Day 3: Tiberias, Capernaum & Banias Take a short tour of the seaside city of Tiberias, and embark on a boat ride to Capernaum, where you'll see the remains of a 2nd century synagogue. Proceed to Tabgha and visit the Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes, then the Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount. A drive to Banias Springs and Waterfalls follows; the day concludes with a tour of Golan Heights. Day 4: Nazareth & Beit Shean Pass through the Cana of Galilee, where Jesus was said to have performed his first public miracle, en route to Nazareth, where you'll visit the Basilica of the Annunciation, St. Joseph Church—his former workshop— and Mary's Well. Day 5: Old City of Jerusalem Begin your tour with a literal overview from the top of the Mount of Olives, and continue it with visits to the Church of All Nations, King David's Tomb, and the Upper Room of the Last Supper on Mount Zion. Pass through the walls of the city to visit the Cardo, Temple Mount, the Western Wall, Via Dolorosa, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and the Arab bazaar, ending the day with a visit to the Garden Tomb. Day 6: New City of Jerusalem & Bethlehem The Church of the Visitation is the key attraction in Ein Karem, and Yad Vashem, the Holocaust memorial site, provides a somber look at this culture's recent history. The Israel Museum, home of the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Shrine of the Book, and the miniature model of Jerusalem in the Second Temple period, provides a glimpse of its past. In Bethlehem, the Church of the Nativity marks the cave that is still traditionally considered to be the birthplace of Jesus of Nazareth. Day 7: Dead Sea & Masada Now that you'll have seen the Dead Sea Scrolls, see where they were found—Qumran, an ancient city along the shores of the Dead Sea. From here, travel to the Masada desert fortress, ascending by cable car to explore the food storeroom, water irrigation system, and Herod's Palace. Time and weather permitting, float on the Dead Sea, whose salty waters will buoy your body as well as your spirits. Day 8: Departure Leave for home with a transfer to Ben Gurion International Airport. Departure Dates: Tour departs and returns on Sundays year-round.
