Cruise to the beaches of the Kimberley coast in the comfort of an Xplorer excursion vessel Day 22. Doubtful Bay, Montgomery Reef. Cruise though the dramatic Doubtful Bay, with cliffs rearing from the sea and cascading waterfalls plunging into the ocean. At Montgomery Reef, watch in wonder as the reef is revealed with the falling tide. Explore this spectacular natural phenomenon and view the abundant marine life, including giant clams, turtles, rays and sea snakes. BLD Day 23. Prince Regent River, King Cascades. Board the Xplorer to get closer to the spectacular, terraced King Cascades. Cruise up Prince Regent River to Camp Creek where you will receive refreshments to enjoy in these beautiful surroundings. Indulge in a swim amidst the freshwater pools before heading back to the ship for another exquisite dinner. BLD Day 24. Careening Bay, Bigge Island. Take a guided trip to Careening Bay and visit the iconic boab tree that still bears the engraving 'HMC Mermaid – 1820'. Carved by a member of the crew, the site commemorates the perilous grounding as repairs were performed on the exploratory ship. Continue on to discover the stunning rock formations and ancient Aboriginal art of Bigge Island. BLD Day 25. Hathaway's Hideaway, Beach Barbecue. After breakfast on board, anchor in Winyalken Bay and head to the mysterious natural winding maze of Hathaway's Hideaway. In the evening, watch as the sun sinks over the glittering horizon and indulge in a delicious gourmet beach barbecue. BLD Day 26. Vansittart Bay, Jar Island. Head out on foot across the sand flats of Vansittart Bay to view the wreckage of the US Air Force DC3 plane that crash-landed on the beach during WWII. Later, guest lecturers will guide you through the ancient Aboriginal art of Jar Island. BLD Day 27. King George River and Falls. Explore the luscious landscape of Tranquil Bay and take a stroll along the beach. Discover gorges carved by the force of the mighty King George River as you cruise to the base of the tallest waterfall in Western Australia. Towering 80 metres above you, these spectacular falls offer one of the most fantastic views in the Kimberley. BLD Day 28. Disembark Ship, Depart Darwin. Your cruise comes to an end this morning as you are transferred to the airport.
