Day 7. Drysdale, Cockburn Ranges, Home Valley Station. Farewell the awe-inspiring scenery of the Mitchell Plateau and indulge in 'the best burger in the Kimberley' at Drysdale River Station. Rejoining the Gibb River Road, ford the Durack River and admire the Cockburn Ranges en route to Home Valley Station. Experience a real Outback adventure as you stay on this immense working cattle station, home to grand gorges, welcoming waterholes, raging rivers and beautiful beaches. Stay: Home Valley Station. BLD Day 8. Home Valley Station, El Questro Wilderness Park, Emma Gorge. Gain fun-filled insight into the operation of a working cattle station on the Home Valley Station Tour. Discover Home Valley's Indigenous training project, spot crocodiles at Ryder's Hole and see where the movie 'Australia' was filmed. APT guests will enjoy privileged access to areas within the Station that are inaccessible to self-drive tourists. Later, cross the Pentecost River into El Questro Wilderness Park, covering a staggering one million acres. Hike to the picturesque Emma Gorge and indulge in a revitalising swim. Tonight, absorb the serene surroundings before indulging in a delicious dinner with your fellow travellers. Stay: Emma Gorge Resort, El Questro. BLD Day 9. El Questro, Wyndham, Parry's Lagoon. Soak in the delectable hot pools of Zebedee Springs and visit the station township. Head to Wyndham and view the spectacular vistas of Cambridge Gulf. Enjoy lunch at an iconic Outback pub before visiting Parry's Lagoon, a bird watchers paradise. Two Night Stay: Kununurra Country Club Resort, Kununurra. Mitchell Falls, Helicopter Flight. Enjoy a full day to discover Mitchell Falls' beautiful cascading waters and Aboriginal art. When available, local Indigenous guides will join the adventure. Begin with a guided hike to Little Mertens Falls to view rarely seen rock art. Continue on to Big Mertens Falls before arriving at Mitchell Falls. See the fantastic Mitchell Falls from their best perspective on an included helicopter flight. If you prefer, hike back with your guide. Longer helicopter flights are also available at additional expense. BLD W.A. Fitzroy Crossing Day 10. Ord River, Lake Kununurra Cruise. Explore the beauty of Kununurra at leisure before travelling to Lake Argyle, the largest man-made lake in the Southern Hemisphere. Join a spectacular wildlife cruise on the mighty Ord River. From modern, shaded vessels you'll discover a fascinating ecological system that has developed from the damming of the Ord River at two locations to create an area that is rich in wildlife, flora and undeniable scenic beauty. Enjoy a beautiful sunset while cruising Lake Kununurra. B Day 11. Echidna Chasm, Purnululu National Park. Explore the plush wilderness region that was awarded World Heritage status in 2003. Hike to Echidna Chasm, a spectacular natural cleft in the rock. Narrow in width with walls reaching 100 metres, Echidna Chasm is a must-see in the Kimberley. Continue on to APT's award-winning Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge, located right in the heart of the tranquil Purnululu National Park. Two Night Stay: EXCLUSIVE! Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge. BLD Day 12. Piccaninny Creek, Cathedral Gorge. Explore the magic of Purnululu for yourself, and discover the depth of the Bungle Bungle Range. Walk along Piccaninny Creek, a winding gorge within the high walls of the Bungle Bungle domes. Your next stop is the natural amphitheatre of Cathedral Gorge, a spacious cavern where the acoustics are astounding. Marvel at the majestic beehive domes as your guide brings the natural history of the range to life. You may like to experience an optional scenic helicopter flight over the domes (own expense). As the sun begins to set, enjoy a drink and savour the truly magnificent scene created by the striking colours of the domes. BLD Day 13. Halls Creek, Fitzroy Crossing. Head to Halls Creek and admire the unusual China Wall. A natural quartz formation which runs 6 kilometres along the landscape, the wall is an echo of that for which it was named – the Great Wall of China. Continue on towards Fitzroy Crossing, a small settlement situated on the Fitzroy River. Stay: Fitzroy River Lodge, Fitzroy Crossing.
