Indulge in a swim amidst the freshwater pools. Head back to the ship. BLD Day 18. Careening Bay, Bigge Island. Take a guided trip to Careening Bay and visit the iconic boab tree that bears the engraving 'HMC Mermaid – 1820'. Carved by one of the crew, the inscription commemorates the site where the ship was grounded and repaired. Explore the stunning rock formations and ancient Aboriginal art of Bigge Island. BLD Day 19. Hathaway's Hideaway, Mitchell Falls. After breakfast on board, anchor in Winyalken Bay and head to the mysterious natural winding maze of Hathaway's Hideaway. Explore this spectacular natural rock formation. Take an optional helicopter flight over the breathtaking Mitchell Falls (own expense). In the evening, watch as the sun sinks over the glittering horizon and indulge in a delicious gourmet beach barbecue. BLD Day 20. Vansittart Bay, Jar Island. Head out on foot across the sand flats of Vansittart Bay to view the wreckage of the US Air Force DC3 plane. Later, guest lecturers will guide you through the Aboriginal art of Jar Island.
